A-State Will be Closed on Thursday, March 5

Arkansas State University will remain closed on Thursday, March 5 due to incoming winter weather. This includes the main campus at Jonesboro and the Paragould center.

For the convenience of students, faculty/staff and the community:
  • The Acansa Dining Hall will operate under inclement weather hours, 10:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • The Red Wolf Center will be open from noon - 5 pm.
  • The Dean B. Ellis Library will decide on their hours after campus conditions are evaluated Thursday morning.
  • GradStock has been rescheduled to March 9, from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Cooper Alumni Center.
  • The Testing Center will be closed.
  • Wednesday's performance of "12 Angry Men" has been cancelled. Contact the Box Office for refund information.
  • NEA Science Fair has been postponed to March 16 at Hames Room, Convocation Center.
  • Communications Day (March 7) has been cancelled.
  • The SunBelt basketball match-ups with South Alabama will be played as scheduled.
  • This weekend's baseball matchup with UTA has been moved to Smith-Wills Stadium in Jackson, MS. First game is Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday, March 8 at 1 p.m.

The university reminds students to monitor their official Arkansas State student email account for information regarding classes, as explained in an announcement from Provost Lynita Cooksey.

Communication Services

Information Technology Services offers a variety of communications products and services to meet the needs of the University community. The ITS Business Services team provides full customer support to ensure ease of obtaining services and billing.

The Communications Services Statement

The Communications Services Statement (CSS) is an online billing system for all Information Technology related charges. The Statement is published monthly and is broken into the following categories:

Each month, employees with access to the Statement are delivered an email with information on logging into the statement. Each department is provided a two-day grace period for reviewing charges and reporting any discrepancies to ITS. Upon completion of the grace period, charges are posted to Banner.

Frequency of Billing

The monthly CSS is available in the final week of the month. Billing occurs 2 months in arrears for services rendered. During this 2-month period, billing is received from the vendors, compiled, validated, and uploaded to CSS. The receipt, compiling, and validation usually occurs within the 5-day period that billing information is received from the service providers.

Fixed Charges-Voice Over IP Phones

Fixed Charges are fees for Voice Over IP telephones that are billed annually. In July each year, the CSS details the charges for each department’s telephones for the entire fiscal year. This fee covers maintenance on the device. Pricing and available phones are located on the Communications Services Billing Page.

Cellular Service and Billing

The University offers a variety of mobility device and data plan options to meet user needs.

To order your phone, tablet, data plans and/or accessories:

  • Go to the ASU ITS store at http://itstore.astate.edu
  • Click on products to view available offerings. Available devices and data plans may also be searched by vendor. To search by vendor, click 'Products', 'By Manufacturer' and select the preferred vendor.
  • Add your items to the cart.
  • Click “View Cart” to view your cart items.
  • Type your name and information in the text boxes.
  • Print this page and acquire signatures.

Long Distance Service and Billing

Long Distance service is provided to departments at a per minute usage rate. Upon request, employees are assigned a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for all usage that is then billed to the responsible department each month. Obtain a Long Distance PIN by contacting ITS by telephone (870.972.3033) or by email.

Adjustments and Other Charges

Adjustments and Other Charges is comprised of all IT related charges that are incurred from IDTs, Work Orders, Construction Projects, and/or other miscellaneous activities. Charges such as network port installs, cable tv set-up and wireless air cards will be detailed in this section. Any adjustments in the Statement will also appear in Adjustments and Other Charges.
