University Bookstore Announces Textbook Rental Awards

10/31/2014

JONESBORO – The Arkansas State Bookstore today announced exciting news for students who will attend A-State during the spring semester of 2015. Bookstore manager Toby Weisend said the store will give away 40 textbook rental awards of $250 each.

To become eligible, interested students must visit the Arkansas State Bookstore in the Reng Student Union and complete a quick entry form with name, major and contact information. No purchase is required to enter.

"This just resonates with who we are," Weisend commented, explaining the store's purpose for the giveaway. "We really want to work with the students. We hope the students will share the experience, 'Hey, I won a textbook rental award!' "

Recipients will be selected by random drawings during the month of November, and the winners must be enrolled (or planning to enroll) for at least six credit hours during the spring semester.

Weisend said the bookstore, which is operated by Neebo, is making a long-term commitment to provide $10,000 in Arkansas State Bookstore Textbook Rental Awards to students each academic year.

"I think the award winners will become more educated on how we truly are a partner with the students," he added. "We are there to give them value. We want to work with the students."

Because it is a rental award, recipients who accept it must agree to abide by the bookstore’s rental policies and return the book at the completion of the semester.

Unfortunately, student-athletes on book scholarship are not eligible for the award because of applicable NCAA regulations.

The University Bookstore is located in the east end of the Carl R. Reng Student Union (GPS address 101 N. Caraway Road). Hours are 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays, and the store opens on football game days for the convenience of Red Wolves fans.
