08/16/2018

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University’s Fowler Center will present renowned folk musician John McEuen & The String Wizards in concert Thursday, Aug. 30, at 7:30 p.m.

As a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1966, McEuen instigated the 1972 classic "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" album, which was inducted into the Library of Congress as one of America's most important recordings.

Having performed more than 10,000 concerts and 300 television shows with the band and as a solo performer, McEuen brings his guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin along with favorite Nitty Gritty Dirt Band songs and the stories behind them to the stage in a manner that earned the honored Best in the West Award from the Folk Alliance Organization.

McEuen has made over 40 albums that have earned four platinum and five gold recognition awards, Grammy nominations, CMA and ACM awards, an Emmy nomination, and the IBMA record of the year award.
