Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center To Host Winetasting, Dinner Oct. 24

PIGGOTT - On the evening of October 24, the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) will host a winetasting and dinner at Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, on the campus of Arkansas State University. Proceeds from the event will benefit the HPMEC.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and the opening of an art exhibit by Professor James Richards from the University of Texas at Arlington. This exhibit will focus on sketches from the museum’s trip to Cuba last summer. The dinner and winetasting will begin at 7 p.m. Butch Cochran will be the evening’s sommelier, discussing the wines guests will drink and their best pairings.

This event serves as a kick-off for the promotion of the museum’s upcoming trip to Paris on March 22-30, 2015. The cost of the evening is $75. Information about the trip to Paris may also be obtained by contacting the museum.

HPMEC is an Arkansas State University Heritage Site located at 1021 W. Cherry Street, Piggott. Tours are held on the hour Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
