College of Nursing and Health Professions Recognizes Top Graduating 2025 Seniors
JONESBORO – The College of Nursing and Health Professions at Arkansas State University recognized its most outstanding graduating students during Convocation of Scholars, according to Dr. Scott Gordon, dean of the college.
Catherine E. Couch of Pocahontas, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences degree in radiation therapy, received the Chancellor’s Scholar award as the graduating senior with the highest overall grade point average and most credit hours completed at A-State.
Twenty additional graduating students with a perfect 4.0 GPA received the 4.0 Scholar Award in recognition of their scholarly achievements.
Ten recipients of the 4.0 Scholar Award in the School of Nursing completed the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists. They are Chelsea N. Botley of Orange, Texas, Caleb Bradford of Wichita, Kan., Zachary W. Hobbs of Paragould, Kolton L. Hooks of Rison, Candace M. Hulett of North Little Rock, Dylan W. Hutto of Fairhope, Ala., Benjamin D. Jordan of Russellville, Nathan A. Kerley of Jonesboro, Catie L. Meskimen of Cave City, and Allison R. Sellers of Milan, Tenn.
Four other students who completed the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree received the 4.0 Award. They are Shea A. Malone of Paragould, Leanne Harris of Paragould, Madison E. Taylor of Grapevine, Ark., and Reika Shimizu of Nagoya City, Japan.
Three students who received the 4.0 Scholar Award completed the Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree. They are Madison B. Savage of Mammoth Spring, Ansley N. Simmons of Mena, and Madison B. Wood of Paragould.
Two students completing the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, Sydney Lane Glenn of Keiser and Samuel K. Philley of Oak Grove, La., are 4.0 graduates.
Emma Webb of Blytheville, a graduate of the communication disorders program, Wyatt L. Reed of Paragould, a graduate of the disaster preparedness and emergency management program, and Jasmine Espinoza of Fort Smith, a graduate of the master's program in athletic training, also received the 4.0 Scholar Award.
Outstanding graduating students also received various awards for academic and clinical achievements in the college’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
