Children’s Theatre Presents ‘The Three Bully Goats Griff’

JONESBORO – The 21st season of Summer Children’s Theatre at Arkansas State University will conclude with “The Three Bully Goats Griff” by Patrick Rainville Dorn.

Performance dates for the second production of the 2014 season are Wednesday and Thursday, July 30‑31, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Friday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.  This production is sponsored by The Golden Grotto.

“The Three Bully Goats Griff” will be produced by ASU Theatre students under the direction of Bob Simpson, professor of theatre.

The performers include Betsy Hegger, a junior theatre major from Jonesboro, as Sherman; Dru Ergle, a senior theatre major from Jonesboro, as Gertrude and Polly Titian; Jeremy Smith, a senior theatre major from Dumas, as Billy; Brooke Thomas, a junior theatre major from Jonesboro, as Wilhelmia and Carrie Post; Luke Guntharp, a sophomore theatre major from Jonesboro, as Fred Griff; Virginia Hirsch, a junior theatre major from Cabot, as Dee Veloper; and Ali Hoffman, a freshman theatre major from Marmaduke, as Ismelda Slipper.

Claire Abernathy, assistant professor of theatre, will supervise costuming and makeup and Jeff McLaughlin, assistant professor of theatre, will be technical director.

All performances will be held at Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive on the A-State campus.  Parking is available on the north side of Fowler Center.

All seating is reserved.  Tickets should be purchased in advance at the Central Box Office in the Convocation Center for $5, by calling 972-ASU1, or online at tickets.astate.edu.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door (if available) on the day of the performance for $7 each.  Reservations are highly recommended.
