ASU’s Small Business and Technology Development Center to offer “How to Create a Winning Marketing Plan” workshop

JONESBORO, Ark. — Standing out in the crowd of competitors to get a marketing message across to potential customers has always been a challenge for small businesses. Fortunately, with today’s technology, small businesses can stand out from the herd and use cutting edge tools to grow.

The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) is offering a “How to Write a Winning Marketing Plan” seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, Room 201, 319 University Loop Circle, to share innovative and easy-to-master tools owners can use for little or no cost to improve marketing messages and help businesses grow.  The seminar will be offered twice, 1-4 p.m. and again 6-9 p.m.

“Marketing is the top priority for success, say 89 percent of small business owners; yet 73 percent admit they do not have any type of marketing plan,” stated Herb Lawrence, ASU SBTDC director.   “The challenge for most of these small businesses is that owners feel they lack the resources, time or knowledge to create such a plan.  In this workshop, we will show small business owners how to create and use a plan that will actually save them time, use existing resources more effectively, and help them reach new customers to improve the bottom line”.

In this short three-hour workshop, attendees will receive the tools they need and the resources to actually create a plan that will significantly improve marketing efforts and bring more customers to their business.

Cost is $35 per person, $25 for Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Jonesboro Association members, and $20 for ASU faculty, staff and students.   Register for this workshop by calling the ASU SBTDC (870) 972-3517; e-mail your registration to asusbtdc@astate.edu or online at http://asbtdc.ualr.edu/training/jonesboro.asp.

This workshop is co-sponsored by the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Jonesboro Association, Pleth, LLC, First Security Bank, Liberty Bank of Arkansas and Simmons First Bank.
