Biography

Mrs. Futrell’s started her nursing education in 2004, by completing her Licensed practical nurse (LPN) from Crowley’s Ridge Technical Institute. She started working in a women’s unit providing care to laboring mothers and postpartum mothers. She developed a desire to increase her knowledge through obtaining her Associate of science in nursing (ASN) in 2009 at East Arkansas Community College. In 2017, She obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from University of Arkansas to expand her nursing education. As she progressed in her professional career as a mentor and preceptor to new nurses, she developed a passion for education. While pursuing her master’s degree in education, she became a clinical-adjunct instructor for Arkansas State University. She graduated from Arkansas State University with her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in 2023. She is currently enrolled in the DNP Leadership Program and anticipates graduating in December of 2024. Mrs. Futrell began her current position as Assistant Professor of Nursing in the fall of 2023. Currently, she oversees obstetric clinical rotation for BSN and ASN students and community clinical rotation.
