Dr. Hill is the director of the Griffin Graduate Program and an associate professor of finance at Arkansas State University.

During his tenure at the University of Mississippi and Arkansas State University, Dr. Hill received awards and grants for his research on corporate liquidity management and corporate political connections. He has published in many of the leading academic journals in finance. These include Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Real Estate Economics, among many others. Dr. Hill is co-author of the sole academic textbook on firm liquidity and working capital management: Short-Term Financial Management, 6th edition, Cognella Publishing Group (with T. Maness and J. Zietlow, three editions). This textbook has been adopted by over fifty universities throughout North America and Europe.

In addition to his passion for financial theory, Dr. Hill is equally passionate about practical finance. He is a CFA charter holder and he holds the certified treasury professional (CTP) and certified corporate financial planning and analysis professional (FPAC) certifications. The latter are administered by the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP).

Since 2014, Dr. Hill has been a consultant for the AFP. In this capacity he has led numerous in-person and virtual training sessions on liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, and FP&A best practices for many leading organizations. These include Bank of Montreal, Capital One, Johnson and Johnson, Michelin, and PNC Bank. Dr. Hill has also partnered with the AFP on the development of their training curriculum. He was co-editor of Essentials of Treasury Management, 5th edition; which served as the body of knowledge for the CTP examination between 2017 and 2020. Most recently, he edited the revised 2024 FPAC curriculum.

Dr. Hill also proudly uses his finance and business background in community service efforts. He has served on the budget committee of Highland Drive Baptist Church, the board of directors for Ridgefield Christian School, and the club board at Ridgepointe Country Club.

He is married to Dr. Katerina (Katie) Hybnerova-Hill and they have three children (Mason, Connor, and Henleigh).

Dr. Hill completed his undergraduate degree in corporate finance and his MBA at Arkansas State University. His Ph.D. in finance was earned at Mississippi State University.
