A-State Remains Closed Through Friday. March 6

Arkansas State University will remain closed through Friday, March 6, due to heavy snowfall and hazardous road conditions. This includes the main campus at Jonesboro and the Paragould center.

For the convenience of students, faculty/staff and the community:
  • The Acansa Dining Hall will operate under inclement weather hours, 10:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday and 10:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
  • The Red Wolf Center will be open from noon - 5 pm during the closure.
  • The Dean B. Ellis Library will be open on Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and regular hours over the weekend.
  • GradStock has been rescheduled to March 9, from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Cooper Alumni Center.
  • The Testing Center will be closed.
  • NEA Science Fair has been postponed to March 16 at Hames Room, Convocation Center.
  • Communications Day (March 7) has been cancelled.
  • The SunBelt basketball match-ups with South Alabama will be played as scheduled.
  • This weekend's baseball matchup with UTA has been moved to Smith-Wills Stadium in Jackson, MS. First game is Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday, March 8 at 1 p.m.
  • The Honors Reception event scheduled for Saturday, March 7 has been cancelled.

The university reminds students to monitor their official Arkansas State student email account for information regarding classes, as explained in an announcement from Provost Lynita Cooksey.

Parking Permits

Student, faculty/staff and motorcycle parking permits are ordered online through the myCampus web portal. Permits will be delivered by the Postal Service to the address you select during the ordering process. Please allow at least 5 days for your permit to be delivered by USPS. Free temporary permits are available from Parking Services if needed during the delivery period.

Types of parking permits


Student (SD)


Issued to part-time and full-time students. Any student, whether taking online classes or campus classes, must display a permit while parking on campus. (Online Only)

Faculty / Staff (FS)


Issued to FULL-TIME faculty/staff employees only. (Online Only)

Staff / Employee (SE)


Issued to full-time employees not wishing to purchase FS permits and to all part-time employees hired through human resources. (Online Only)

Motorcycle (MC)


Permits are for all motorcycles, motor bikes, scooters, etc. (Online Only)

Temporary (TE)

$5.00 / week

Temporary permits valid for 7 days after the date of purchase.

Business (BP)


Issued to service providers who are not faculty, staff or students and who will receive or potentially receive payment for services rendered on or for any A-State system with the exception of activities coordinated through the Construction Office of Facilities Management.

Departmental (DP)


Placards issued to A-State departments. They are for use by department employees who must use personal vehicles in the absence of state-owned vehicles for short-term service/delivery activities (30 minute time limit).

Construction (CP)

No Charge

Issued to persons who are not registered students and are working on projects coordinated through the Construction Office of Facilities Management. CP Permits must be secured through the Construction Office.

Campus Resident (CR)

No Charge

Issued to residents of The Village. Each family unit in The Village must purchase at least one A-State student or employee parking permit.

Student Health Center (HC)

No Charge

Issued by the Student Health Center. HC Permits allow students with qualifying illness or injury to park in Faculty/Staff parking during the period the permits are valid. This permit does not allow for parking in disability parking spaces.

Parking Permit Placement

Illustration of proper permit placementYour parking permit must be displayed right side up (barcode at the bottom) on the inside of the vehicle windshield in the lower driver side of the windshield. The entire front surface of the permit must be visible. The vehicle VIN number should not be obstructed by the permit.

Driving a Secondary Vehicle

The window-cling permits may be moved from vehicle to vehicle without contacting Parking Services. However, changes in your primary vehicle should be submitted to Parking Services through the online vehicle information update form.

Order a Parking Permit

To order a parking permit, simply follow the following steps:

  1. Log in to myCampus, the university portal.
  2. Click on the "Parking eBiz" icon.
  3. Follow the directions.
