  • Master of Science in Early Childhood Services
    • No Teacher Licensure Required.
  • Master of Science in Education in Curriculum & Instruction

  • Master of Public Administration

    To be considered for admission to the MPA program, in addition to meeting Graduate School admission requirements:

    • Applicants must provide three letters of recommendation.
    • Applicants must submit a 2-3 page Statement of Purpose explaining why he/she has chosen to pursue a MPA degree.
    • An applicant's undergraduate background must include courses with grades of "C" or higher in American national government and principles of economics or their equivalents. If the student is deficient, these courses must be taken in addition to the graduate course requirements. Such undergraduate deficiencies must be completed prior to or during the first graduate enrollment period.
  • Master of Science in Sport Administration

    Applicants are required to submit the following:

    • All official transcripts as verification of coursework and degree(s).
    • A formal Statement of Goals which should explain in at least 500 words why he/she wants to be admitted into the program and what he/she plans to do with the degree.
    • A current resume.
    • Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to the applicant's academic potential and professional capabilities. One should be from a university faculty member who is familiar with the applicant's work as a student. One should come from a supervisor in which he/she has evaluated the applicant's current or prior work.

    The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all foreign students from countries in which English is not the native language. Students holding a baccalaureate or advanced degree from an accredited institution in the U.S. are exempt from this requirement.

    Lastly, faculty may require interviews in addition to written credentials as part of the admission process. In addition to these requirements, admission to the degree program may require completion of specific prerequisite undergraduate courses.

    Applicants will be considered for admission during a given review cycle only if all of the above materials have been received by the Graduate School's application deadlines. After the initial review of admission materials the committee members can either choose to reject the candidate without an interview or decide to proceed with an interview. Following the interview phase, the Admissions Committee makes its final recommendation to accept the candidate for admission or to deny admission. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Master of Engineering Management
    • Complete online application for A-State's MEM and submit a nonrefundable $30 fee.
    • Official transcript(s) sent from the registrar of the college/university attended. Official transcripts are sealed transcripts sent from the sending institution.
    • Have a baccalaureate degree or a master's degree with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale from an accredited institution.
    • Undergraduate degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university OR a bachelor's degree that includes 18 hours in undergraduate Engineering from a regional accredited university.

  • Ed.S. Education Specialist Degree Superintendent

    To be considered for the Ed.S. Education Specialist Degree program, each candidate must have, in addition to the admission requirements of the Graduate School, the following:

    • At least a 3.25 GPA in a master's degree from an accredited institution.
    • Three years of experience as a certified teacher in an educational institution. Please submit Years of Teaching Experience Verification Form:
    • One year of building-level administrative experience.
    • A written commitment from a practicing central office administrator who will serve as a mentor during this program. Applicants should review the qualifications and responsibilities with their chosen mentor prior to having the mentor complete the mentor form: View acceptable mentors (.PDF)
    • Candidates for the Specialist degree are required to complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate work. A maximum of nine semester hours of graduate credit may be transferred from other approved institutions.
  • Ed.S. Education Degree Specialist in Principalship

    To be considered for the Specialist Degree-Principalship Track, each candidate must have, in addition to the admission requirements of the Graduate School, the following::

    • At least a 3.25 GPA in a master's degree from an accredited institution and program.
    • Two years of experience as a certified teacher in an educational institution. Please submit Years of Teaching Experience Verification Form:

  • Ed.S. Education Degree Specialist in Special Education

    To be considered for the Specialist Degree-Director of Special Education Track, each candidate must have, in addition to the admission requirements of the Graduate School, the following::

    • At least a 3.25 GPA in a master's degree from an accredited institution and program.
    • Two years of experience as a special education teacher in an educational institution. Please submit Years of Teaching Experience Verification Form:
    • A current state-issued special educator's teaching license.
    • A written commitment from a practicing special education director or central office administrator who will serve as a mentor during this program.   • Ed.S. Education Degree Specialist in Curriculum Instruction

    To be considered for the Specialist Degree-Curriculum Director Track, each candidate must have, in addition to the admission requirements of the Graduate School, the following::

    • At least a 3.25 GPA in a master's degree from an accredited institution and program.

  • Ed.S. Education Degree Specialist in Gifted and Talented Director

    To be considered for the Specialist Degree-Gifted and Talented Director Track, each candidate must have, in addition to the admission requirements of the Graduate School, the following::

    • At least a 3.25 GPA in a master's degree from an accredited institution and program.
    • Two years of experience as a certified teacher of gifted, talented, and creative (GTC) in an educational institution. Please submit Years of Teaching Experience Verification Form:
    • A current state-issued (GTC) teaching license.
    • A written commitment from a GTC director or district level administrator who will serve as a mentor during this program.   • Programs of Study

    Programs of study leading to Arkansas licensure are available in the following areas: Building-Level Administrator, Special Education Director, Gifted and Talented Director, Curriculum Director, Special Education K-12, and Gifted, Talented and Creative Teachers.

    • An education-related master's degree from an accredited institution is a prerequisite for admission to all programs of study except Special Education K-12 and Gifted, Talented and Creative Teachers, which require the possession of an initial teaching license.
