ASU SBTDC “Operation Jump Start” seminar to begin April 11
JONESBORO, Ark. — A six-night program entitled “Operation Jump Start: Starting a Business on the Right Foot” is scheduled to begin Thursday, April 11, at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville and will run for six consecutive Thursdays. The seminar is open to any area resident who wants to learn how to start a business.
Arkansas State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), Independence County Economic Development, Inc., Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, and area lenders are hosting the program.
The “Operation Jump Start Entrepreneurship” series is designed as a hands-on program to help area entrepreneurs launch new ventures. As part of a six-night series, participants will learn what it takes to start a business, how to write successful business plans and loan proposals, basic financing options to start the business, marketing assistance and research to find the best customers, and more.
Through a unique combination of expert speakers, “hands-on” business plan development workbooks, and assistance from business development professionals, participants will learn what it takes to launch and grow a small business in Independence County.
The series is from 6-9 p.m. and registration is $50 per person. But the registration fee will be fully refunded to those individuals who attend five of the six nights and complete the program.
