While it is not required that a parent/guardian attend New Student Registration with their future student, we like to encourage at least one to do so. There is no registration process required to attend the Parent Program. Just arrive with your student on their assigned registration date and time.
Transitioning to college can be just as important to parents as it is to students. That is why we have designed an orientation program for parents, which coincides with the student schedule. Parents have the opportunity to hear from representatives from Financial Aid and Scholarships, Residence Life, and many other areas of campus.
Should you have any questions about the parent orientation program please contact the Leadership Center at 870-972-2055.
First Year Parent Association
While at New Student Registration, parents/guardians have the opportunity to sign up for the First-Year Parent Association. Membership in the association includes access to the first year parent website and weekly electronic newsletters featuring timely articles, important dates, photo gallery of first year students and other information relevant to the parents of first-year ASU students.
This is a great opportunity for you to stay involved, and at the same time, let your son or daughter have the opportunity to take charge of his or her education. The entire fee of $20.00 goes directly to programming and special activities for our first-year students.
Membership dues are collected during New Student Registration via Student Account Services, located on the second floor of the Student Union, or may be mailed to Student Account Services, P.O. Box 1680 / State University, AR 72467.
Please include your name, preferred email address, phone number, name of your student and a check payable to Arkansas State University.
If you have any questions about the First Year Parent Association, contact Kerry Tew at email@example.com or (870) 972-3250.
