Links of Interests
John Harlan Norris is a painter and musician originally from Kentucky. He received a double BA in Studio Art and English from Centre College and earned his MFA in Painting and Drawing from Louisiana State University. His work has been shown nationally in cities including New York, Chicago, and Houston.
In 2009, Norris has shown in venues including David Lusk Gallery (Memphis, TN), First Street Gallery (New York, NY), and Baton Rouge Gallery: Center for Contemporary Art (Baton Rouge, LA). He is an Assistant Professor of Art at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. Previously, Norris taught at Louisiana State University and University of Louisiana, Lafayette. In addition, he makes music for Harlan, an ongoing musical project that began in 2005.
