Education: Refer to the Personnel Standards of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988. Training and Experience: Refer to the Personnel Standards of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988. Job Knowledge: Qualifies as a General Supervisor under the Personnel Standards of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 under indirect supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Director. Responsible for performing and reporting results of all diagnostic tests offered by White County Medical Center Laboratory while participating in QA, IC, Safety QCI, and proficiency testing programs as required by OSHA and CLIA 88. This position requires knowledge in the care of patients served as indicated: Neonate and infant birth up to one year, Childhood and Adolescence is one year to 17 years, Adult is 18 to 65 years and Geriatric is 65 years and above.

Education: High School Diploma Training and Experience: No prior experience necessary. Job Knowledge: Must demonstrate a willingness to learn. Must be able to communicate effectively with all hospital personnel and present a courteous and professional manner to the public. Responsible for performing and reporting results of all diagnostic tests offered by White County Medical Center Laboratory while participating in QA, IC, Safety QCI, and proficiency testing programs as required by OSHA and CLIA 88. This position requires knowledge in the care of patients served as indicated: Neonate and infant birth up to one year, Childhood and Adolescence is one year to 17 years, Adult is 18 to 65 years and Geriatric is 65 years and above.

Supports Quality Laboratory Operations by insuring proper collection, processing, and testing of patient samples by insuring that all testing performed in the laboratory is done in a timely and accurate manner, and through responsible utilization of equipment, supplies, and other resources performs routine maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment and assists in insuring reliability and accuracy of all laboratory testing systems and equipment, including responsibility of Quality Control systems.  Maintains good communications with others, complies with all hospital and Laboratory Policies and insures quality patient care at all times. Supervises other MLTs, Lab Assistants, and Phlebotomists, as required. Assists in laboratory operations and other duties, as assigned.  Sedentary Work (Prolonged periods of sitting exerting up to 10 lbs forces occasionally); Standing/Walking Work (Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking)

Requirements:

MT- Must demonstrate meeting said requirements by certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency., (E.G. - ASCP, AMT, ISCLT, HEW, NCA, ETC.) or by graduation from a school of Medical Technology with a BS degree
