Apply for Financial Aid

Applying for Financial Aid is easy, just follow the steps below.

1. Apply for Admission

No student is considered for financial aid until he or she has applied and been accepted into Arkansas State University. Your admission application is also your application to the various institutional scholarships. To apply for privately funded scholarships, you must fill out a separate application.

2. Create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID).

Both students and their parents can create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) at

3. Complete the FAFSA

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) online. The ASU federal school code is "001090". The priority deadline for completing the FAFSA is February 15th.

What is next?

Monitor the progress

Use our internal campus portal, mycampus.astate.edu, to log into Banner Self Service.  This utility allows you to monitor your financial aid status, accept your financial aid award, and check your student account at ASU. 

Verification

If you are selected for verification, you must provide additional tax information to the Office of Financial Aid. You can view your requests for documentation by following the Financial Aid link after logging into mycampus.astate.edu

Check the mail

First-Year students - A paper award notification will be mailed upon completion of all necessary items.
Returning/Transfer students - An award notification will be emailed to the student Astate Email Account.

Receive an Award

Once your information has been reviewed, an award package will be created and you will be able to view the award by logging into mycampus.astate.edu.

Receive the Funds

Financial aid funds will be disbursed to the students' accounts at ASU after the 11th day of class each semester. Students may monitor their account and view their account summary by logging into mycampus.astate.edu.

Excess financial aid (excess refunds) will be available through direct deposit or paper check which will be mailed to the student.
