Hu's Book on China's Social Insurance is Published Hu's Book on China's Social Insurance is Published

Congratulations to Dr. Aiqun Hu, associate professor of history, whose book, "China's Social Insurance in the Twentieth Century: A Global Historical Perspective," has been published by Brill Academic Publishers. She also recently presented "Teaching Asia in Global Context" for the Arkansas Association of College History Teachers in Little Rock, describing a course she teaches on interactions within Asia and with the larger world.

Corbit Named Assessment Professor of Month

Ken Corbit, instructor in communication studies, was selected by the Learning Outcomes Advisory Committee and Office of Assessment for the A-State Professor of the Month recognition. He implemented a new paradigm to boost his teaching effectiveness; his "Three A's" technique focuses on how students acquire, articulate and apply their knowledge. Corbit and one of his students, Levi Crawford, talk about classroom effectiveness in the announcement video.

Ford Receives Artist Fellowship Award Ford Receives Artist Fellowship Award

Joe Ford, assistant professor of digital design, is among the latest recipients of an Individual Artist Fellowship Award from the Arkansas Arts Council. Ford's award is in the category of "Visual Arts – Sculpture/Installation Art." Previously, Ford was a 2013 National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow in the Humanities and 3D Visualization Institute. His work has been exhibited in galleries and shows throughout the United States.

 
Bohn's Article Published on Theatre Site

Lisa Bohn, assistant professor of theatre, has written an article for HowlRound.com, a knowledge commons by and for the theatre community. In the article, "Letting Go: How Collaborating with Designers Has Helped My Control Issues" she discusses the creative and design process during the A-State Theatre production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," including the outstanding costume work by Claire Abernathy, assistant professor of theatre.
