Bradley’s Book on Athletic Training is Published
Congratulations to Dr. Robert Bradley, assistant professor of athletic training, whose new book has been released by EOTB Publishing. In the book, AT the End of the Bench, Bradley provides his account and career observations about the athletic training profession. Written for athletic training students and fans of athletics behind the scenes, the book places particular emphasis on the role athletic training plays in the world of collegiate athletics.

Johnston Selected for Emerging Leaders
Brandy Johnston, assistant vice chancellor for finance, and treasurer, was selected for the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) Emerging Leaders Program. Johnston joined 36 other academic and administrative professionals in higher education, representing 31 institutions, for an in-person session in June. During the next year, the cohort will participate in interactive online sessions, and will lead a project or initiative at their home campuses under the guidance of a mentor.

Balla Selected to Present at Midwest Clinic
Dr. Nick Balla, director of bands, has been selected to present at the 2025 Midwest Clinic: International Band & Orchestra Conference in Chicago. He and a colleague from the University of Illinois will present "Maximizing Every Minute: Transforming Score Study into an Active, Music-Making Experience." They also have been selected to have their session captured for the Midwest Clinic Learning Site, an online database resource.

Neuman-Lee and Terry Study Zoo’s Turtles
Dr. Lori Neuman-Lee, associate professor of physiology, and PhD student Jen Terry were showcased at the Memphis Zoo for their research on the physiology of the turtles at the zoo. Their work is part of a long-term partnership involving Dr. Sheila Poo, curator of research at the zoo and adjunct professor at A-State, and members of the Neuman-Lee lab. Multiple students help document the turtles’ health and conduct outreach at the zoo.

Abir Appointed Associate Editor of Journal
Shake Ibna Abir, instructor of mathematics, has been appointed associate editor of the peer-reviewed Journal of Medical Engineering & Technology. Abir will contribute to shaping the journal’s vision, supporting the peer review process, and promoting dissemination of high-quality, impactful research in medical engineering and applied technologies. His appointment reflects his scholarly contributions to the application of artificial intelligence in medical imaging, medical signal analysis, and clinical decision support systems.
