Desai’s Article and Book Chapter are Published
An article by Dr. Hrishikesh Desai, assistant professor of accounting, has been published in the Journal of Education for Business. The article details a new full cost accounting course, validated by experts on AACSB advisory councils, which needs to be integrated into the business school Master of Business Administration curriculum. Also, his book chapter titled “Reimagining Compliance: Explainable AI Models for Financial Regulatory Audits” has also been published in a new book.

Cameron is National Finalist for American Prize
Dr. Erin Cameron, assistant professor of clarinet, was named a national finalist in the instrumental soloist division for the 2025 American Prize. The American Prize National Nonprofit Competition is the nation's most comprehensive series of contests in the performing arts. Unique in scope and structure, the American Prize is designed to recognize and reward the best performing artists, directors, ensembles and composers in the United States.

Lee is Panelist and Presenter at Two Conferences
Dr. Jaein Lee, assistant professor of sociology, was a panel discussant at the conference on Korean Diaspora and Diasporic Education at Penn State. He also met with Korean government and embassy representatives regarding recruiting students to study in South Korea. Lee presented a paper, co-authored by a Ph.D. student at Brown, at the Time Use as a Social Determinant of Health Conference at the University of Maryland. They investigated how active leisure time boosts adults’ mental health.

Thomason is Newest PROPS Award Winner
The (PROPS) subcommittee of Staff Senate has named Tara Thomason, director of alumni engagement and outreach, as the next recipient of the monthly PROPS (Proudly Recognizing our Pack Staff) Award. Her nominator noted her passion for assisting students and families in her role with student engagement, and her effective ideas for improving various processes with the work of the A-State Alumni Association. Singleton is Editor of Newly Published Textbook
Dr. Topeka Small Singleton, assistant professor of educational leadership, is editor of a textbook, Accountability in Higher Education: Navigating Current Issues and Trends, published this month by IGI Global. The book explores current issues and trends in relation to accountability in higher education. Several A-State colleagues contributed to this publication, including Drs. Mary Margaret Cunningham, Asher Pimpleton-Gray, Tania Reis, Rick Stripling and Jacques D. Singleton.
