Hossain Chairs International Conference Hossain Chairs International Conference

Dr. Zahid Hossain, associate professor of civil engineering, organized and chaired the 2021 Tran-SET annual conference, e-hosted by A-State. The 200 participants from around the globe included academics and practicing engineers. Papers were peer-reviewed, and 38 were accepted for publication in the American Society of Civil Engineers Construction Institute. Hossain's research team presented six papers. Others on the conference organizing committee were Dr. Abhijit Bhattacharyya, Dr. Thomas Risch, Dr. Bill Smith, and Dr. Rajesh Sharma.

 
Boillot is Teaching Photography in Art + Design Boillot is Teaching Photography in Art + Design

A-State welcomes Rachel Boillot, assistant professor of art, who is one of the individuals joining the faculty this fall. Previously a resident of Nashville, she taught courses in photography at Belmont and Middle Tennessee State before moving to Jonesboro. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in 2014 at Duke. As both a photographer and documentary filmmaker, Boillot’s greatest passion is using the lens to share human stories.

 
Kauffman Joins School of Nursing Faculty

Tiffany Kauffman, assistant professor of nursing, also is a new faculty member. Previously she worked in the ICU at St. Bernards Medical Center from 2012-2019. After obtaining her Master of Nursing Science degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, she became a board-certified acute care adult gerontology nurse practitioner, then worked as an APRN for Elite Hospice and clinical adjunct for the A-State School of Nursing.

Johnson Moves into New Role in DPEM Johnson Moves into New Role in DPEM

Brandon Johnson, instructor in emergency medical services, has been employed in the field since 1998. He earned his degree in disaster preparedness and emergency management at A-State. Previously a full-time paramedic, Johnson has been an adjunct instructor in the emergency medical technician program since spring 2018. Now teaching both EMT and medic classes, he also works with students in the required clinical and field hours.
