Hallett Presents at Federal Depository Conference

Dominique Hallett, government information and STEM librarian, Ellis Library, co-presented with a Yale colleague, “Who Are We the People? A Look into the World of Government Information Professionals,” at the Federal Depository Conference. They covered preliminary survey results from the 2018-2019 survey by the same name. She also was part of a panel discussion on how libraries are managing their Preservation Steward collections.

Morales Speaks for Research Conference Morales Speaks for Research Conference

Dr. Cid Leana Morales, assistant professor of accounting and computer information & technology, A-State Campus Queretaro, spoke at the 10th International Congress on "Research at the Postgraduate Level," which met at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes. His presentation was titled, "The Effect of Logistics Flexibility on Competitiveness of the Manufacturing Small and Medium Enterprises of Aguascalientes." Aguascalientes is the capital of the state of Aguascalientes.

 
Doig Presents at International Session

Dr. Scott Doig, assistant professor of physical education, made a presentation for the International Congress of Sport, Physical Education and Applied Sciences in Monterrey, Mexico. Doig was invited to discuss his knowledge of high-level techniques utilized by successful volleyball coaches for an audience of students and international attendees. He covered experiential activities and concepts of positive skill building in context.

Warren Receives CoHEsion Service Award Warren Receives CoHEsion Service Award

Dee Warren, assistant director of enterprise application services for Information & Technology Services, was selected to receive the Presidential Service Award at the 2019 CoHEsion Summit in St. Louis. CoHEsion, a consortium of higher education software users, recognizes the abilities of outstanding professionals each year through the award, given on the basis of notable and ongoing service, vision, leadership and commitment to CoHEsion.

 
Moore Emphasizes Benefits of Style Guide

Tom Moore, director, University Communications, was interviewed for an article in the online publication Nonprofit Communications Report. The article focused on the benefits of developing an institutional style guide. Moore said A-State started its style guide in 2005 to serve as a central information authority for accurate references in campus news and publications, and to document A-State's variations from the Associated Press Stylebook.
