Jones-Branch to Present Invited Lecture Jones-Branch to Present Invited Lecture

Dr. Cherisse Jones-Branch, James and Wanda Lee Vaughn Professor of History, will deliver the Robert B. Walz Lecture in Arkansas and Regional History this evening at Southern Arkansas University. Her topic is “African-American Women’s Lives and Activism in Rural Jim Crow Arkansas.” Jones-Branch's forthcoming book, "Better Living by Their Own Bootstraps: Rural Black Women’s Activism in Arkansas, 1913-1965," will be published by the University of Arkansas Press.

 
Castro to Present Guest Lecture at Nebraska

Dr. Justin Castro, associate professor of history and department chair, will present the fall guest lecture today for the University of Nebraska's Institute of Ethnic Studies. In addition to presenting "Revolutionary Frustrations: Modesto Rolland and the Engineering of the Mexican Revolution," he will meet with students and faculty in the university's ethnic studies and history programs about the history of science and technology in Mexico.

Damphousse Updates Board of Trustees Damphousse Updates Board of Trustees

During the quarterly meeting of the Board of Trustees Friday, Chancellor Kelly Damphousse discussed the next steps in the campus strategic planning process, recent trends in enrollment and graduation numbers, and A-State's designation as a national university in the US News and World Report 2019 rankings. He also presented video highlights of campus developments since the Board's previous meeting. The video is online.

 
Hood is Co-Author of Two Research Articles

Dr. Elizabeth Hood, Samuel Lipscomb Professor in Agriculture, is lead author of an article, published in GM Crops & Food, which summarizes a researchers' workshop on case studies of citrus greening and numerous other topics. She also is corresponding author of an article in Transgenic Research, reporting on tests of endosperm promoters for increasing the cellulose enzyme expression of recombinant plant proteins.

Quintana Joins School Counseling Faculty Quintana Joins School Counseling Faculty

Welcome to Dr. Taqueena Quintana, a new assistant professor of counseling in the online MSE school counseling program.  Quintana completed her EdD at Argosy University – Northern Virginia. She has already contributed significantly to A-State's school counseling program as an adjunct faculty member. In addition to teaching classes, Quintana is coordinating the practicum and internship experiences for students in the graduate program.
