Baker Presents on Study of Medieval Art Baker Presents on Study of Medieval Art

Dr. Katherine Baker, assistant professor of art history, made a presentation at the International Medieval Congress (IMC) in Leeds, England. Her paper, "Picturing Painting of the 15th Century: Evidence from the Archives," was part of a session on using medieval sources to get a better understanding of the material past. Her panel focused on documents as the source for helping art historians imagine how lost material appeared.

 
Sheppard Elected to Serve Professional Group

April Sheppard, assistant director, Ellis Library, has been elected coordinator-elect for the Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT) unit of the American Library Association (ALA). This unit promotes social responsibility as a core value of librarianship and works to make ALA and the library profession more democratic and progressive. She also was appointed SRRT website coordinator and will serve on the ALA Biblo Conference travel grants committee.

Hunt In Running for National Teaching Award Hunt In Running for National Teaching Award

Dr. Shane Hunt, R.M. “Bob” Wood Endowed Professor in Sales Leadership and professor of marketing, is one of three finalists for the 2019 Marketing Management Association Master Teacher Award. He will be presenting in September to the MMA conference and attending the awards luncheon the next day. Hunt also represented A-State in the first group selected for the Sun Belt Conference Faculty Member of the Year awards program.

 
Gambill Co-Presents on Research Communications Gambill Co-Presents on Research Communications

Chelsea Gambill, Sponsored Programs Accounting, co-presented a concurrent session at the National Council for University Research Administrators Region III annual conference along with Ashley Pinkard, Research and Technology Transfer. The session, “How Implementing a Communication Plan Assists in Overcoming Communication Breakdowns: A Case Study,” covered details of implementing a communication plan and best practices to overcome breakdowns in communication.

 
Pinkard is Co-Presenter on Grants Management

Ashley Pinkard, grants and contracts specialist, Research and Technology Transfer, co-presented a half-day workshop, “A Comprehensive Analysis of Post-Award Grants Management at a PUI (predominately undergraduate institution),” with Chelsea Gambill, Sponsored Programs Accounting, at the National Council for University Research Administrators Region III annual conference. This presentation for research administration professionals from other universities provided information regarding post-award grants and contracts management.
