JONESBORO - In collaboration with Arkansas State University's Department of English, Philosophy and World Languages, Bradbury Art Museum will host "Nonfiction Night at BAM" on Friday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m.

The featured artist will be Dr. Kristi Murray Costello, assistant professor of writing studies and the director of the writing program and Writing Center at A-State.

She will read publicly for the first time from her work, "Almost on My Way: The Time I Didn't Interview Ben Kweller and Become a Rock Journalist," published in the biannual journal, Barrelhouse. This piece uses a failed writing project as a vehicle to show how dreams and lives are malleable and how brushing up against those dreams, even if only for a brief moment, can change us and our life trajectories.

Costello is a recipient of the Newhouse Award for Poetry, Association of Writers & Writing Programs Intro Awards, and the Academy of American Poets Prize. Her work has been published in Creative Nonfiction , Barrelhouse, Paddlefish, The Patterson Literary Review, The Flexible Persona: An International Journal of Writing and Music, Caduceus, Pennsylvania English, The Connecticut River Review, The Chariton Review, and Big Muddy: Journal of the Mississippi River Valley.

The Bradbury Art Museum is located in Fowler Center on the campus of Arkansas State University. The current exhibition is "A Shared Vision: Selections from the Rudolph-Blume Collection."

BAM hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday and by appointment. This event and the exhibition are admission-free and open to the public. For information about this and other upcoming events visit the website BradburyArtMuseum.org or contact the museum at (870) 972-3765.
