Department of Music to present Choirs in Concert
JONESBORO – The Department of Music at Arkansas State University will present the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers in concert on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center's Riceland Hall, 201 Olympic Dr.
The two groups will be conducted by Dr. Dale Miller and graduate conductor Kane Bradley, with Brian Henkelmann, collaborative pianist.
Selections to be performed include: “Star-spangled Banner” arranged by Lloyd Pfautsch, “Now is the Month of Maying” by Thomas Morley, “April is in my Mistress' Face” by David Maslanka, “Let Go, Why Do you Stay Me?” by John Bennett, “Se cosi dolce e il duolo” by Carlo Gesualdo, “A ce matin ce seroit bonne estreine” by Orlando di Lasso, and “Sing We Now of Christmas” arranged by Fred Prentice.
Other selections on the program are “Ascendit Deus” by Jacobus Gallus, “Hymn” by James K. Bradley, “Missa Brevis” by Kale McDaniel, an A-State composition major, “Everything Beautiful” by Jonathan Adams, “God Bless the U.S.A.” arranged by Mark Brymer, “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” by Thomas A. Dorsey and arranged by Howard Helvey, “Sit Down Servant” arranged by Stacey V. Gibbs, and “Ziguenerleben” by Robert Schumann.
This concert is free and open to the public.
