ASU Museum to Celebrate Día de los Muertos

10/26/2017

JONESBORO - Arkansas State University Museum will host a traditional Hispanic/Latino celebration, Día de los Muertos, on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is free.

"Visitors will enter a joyous atmosphere filled with music, multiple Día de los Muertos activities, and delicious Mexican refreshments," according to Jill Kary, curator of education.

A Day of the Dead altar will be the centerpiece of the festivities. Adorned with ofrenda such as flowers, photographs and food honoring the memory of deceased loved ones, this altar is the contribution of Global Youth students from Mexico and Hispanic Community Services, Inc. of Jonesboro.

For more information, contact Kary at the museum (GPS: 320 University Loop West), jkary@AState.edu or by calling (870) 972-2074.
