ASBTDC to Hold Forge IDEA Festival of Northeast Arkansas

JONESBORO — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC)
at Arkansas State University is hosting the Forge IDEA Festival of Northeast Arkansas,
Saturday, June 13, at the Delta Center for Economic Development, 319 University Loop
Circle. IDEA stands for Innovators, Developers, Entrepreneurs and Artists.
The mission of the Forge IDEA Festival is to create a stimulating and invigorating
environment for creative, innovative individuals in technology, business, the arts,
sciences, agriculture and philanthropy who will share ideas, raise questions and inspire
thoughts that lead to action.
Previously known as Barcamp Jonesboro, IDEA is a time each year that participants
gather in a single place to teach, speak, lead, hold question and answer sessions
and interact with each other to take a step back from day-to-day routines to delve
into an atmosphere of ideas, thought and discussion.
Featured speakers include Kristen Jeffers, BikeWalkKC, North Carolina Placemaker &
“A Black Urbanist,” Jeff Amerine of Startup Junkie Consulting, John Auker of Delta
Cuisine Commercial Kitchen and Business Incubator and Steve Schrantz of Schrantz Law
Firm.
Panelists are assistant professor of physics Dr. Ross Carroll of Arkansas State; Dr.
Brian Rogers, catalyst innovation accelerator of Arkansas State; assistant professor
of agricultural systems technology Dr. Peter Ako Larbi of Arkansas State; Louis Foreman
of Edison Nation; and Robert Bahn, business consultant with the ASBTDC.
