Arkansas State’s SBTDC to co-host six-night seminar to help area businesses maximize economic potential

JONESBORO, Ark. — A six-night program designed to help area businesses maximize their economic potential will begin Thursday, Feb. 21, at the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville. Arkansas State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Independence County Economic Development, Inc., and area lenders will host the program.

The “Operation Jump Start: First Steps to the Next Level” series is designed as a hands-on program that will help area businesses find new market opportunities, manage costs, improve their bottom line and keep their firms financially healthy.  As part of a six-night series, participants will learn how to create an entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on skills to develop realistic marketing plans, tools to improve market analysis and penetration, easy to use financial management tips, develop realistic budgets, create the right management team for growth, and much more.

Through a unique combination of expert speakers, hands-on business plan development tools, and a unique workbook series from the Kauffman Foundation, area business owners will learn how to create a realistic business model to move their companies forward to the next level of profitability.

The series will be from 6-9 p.m. for six consecutive Thursdays.  Registration fee is $50 per person but the registration fee will be fully refunded to those individuals who attend five of the six nights and complete the program.
