Art Immersion Attracts High School Students for Campus Experience

10/15/2021

JONESBORO – Beginning Monday, Oct. 18, the Department of Art + Design conducts its annual Art Immersion for local and regional high school students. Daily activities will continue through Thursday.

“Art Immersion is a recruiting event that we conduct every semester,” stated Dr. Temma Balducci, department chair. “We invite local and regional high school juniors and seniors into our classrooms for a day.  Each prospective student also will be taken by an Art + Design student to lunch on campus.”

Students who visit during Art Immersion will sit in on a variety of courses for a first-hand experience as an A-State Art + Design student. They will visit studios in the Fine Arts Center and the recently dedicated Windgate Center for Three-Dimensional Arts, a new stop during the Art Immersion tour.

Students in the Department of Art + Design also are getting ready for Halloween Arts Bash, an event for campus and community in the Fine Arts Center. Games, prizes, candy, photo booth, haunted gauntlet and more are being planned. This event will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, and is free for all ages.
