Saleh is Co-Author and Co-Editor of Book

Dr. Amany Saleh, professor of curriculum and instruction, Center for Excellence in Education, is the author of a chapter and co-editor of a new book, titled Online Teaching and Learning in Asian Higher Education: Pedagogical Approaches to Classroom Practices. Saleh’s chapter serves as a framework and introduction to the issues and perspectives her co-authors covered in the book, which was published by Palgrave-MacMillan.

LaTour will Address Agri-Food Summit LaTour will Address Agri-Food Summit

Dr. Mickey LaTour, dean, College of Agriculture, will be one of the speakers this week for the Agri-Food Innovation Summit in Fayetteville. His presentation will emphasize the value of developing new collaborations for research opportunities. A-State's Catalyst Innovation Center and Research and Technology Transfer are co-sponsors of the statewide summit, organized by the UA Division of Agriculture. Participants will be looking at agriculture, food entrepreneurship and research. 

 
Wright Addresses State Professional Association

Dr. Christine Wright, associate professor of occupational therapy and department chair, gave two presentations at the Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association mOTivate Conference. The first focused on assisting practicing clinicians with understanding challenges when transitioning from clinic to classroom and the expectations for teaching, scholarship and service. The second presentation focused on the principles of brain-based learning and the application to both occupational therapy clinical practice and professional education.

Bruce Presents for Concussion Symposium Bruce Presents for Concussion Symposium

Dr. Scott Bruce, associate professor of athletic training and assistant dean for research, Nursing and Health Professions, was a featured speaker for the recent symposium on concussions conducted by St. Bernards Medical Center. He gave three presentations, covering current research and advancements in concussion management; case presentations and primary care management; and the outlook for future diagnosis and patient treatment. 

 
Boothman is October PROPS Award Winner

Chris Boothman, senior associate vice chancellor, distance education and technology, is the October recipient of the Staff Senate’s PROPS (Proudly Recognizing Our Pack Staff) Award. Those nominating Boothman emphasized his commitment and dedication to his work for A-State and Online Services. He also is eager to empower his employees to share ideas and concerns, and to give them opportunities to grow personally and professionally.
