RESEARCH COMPLIANCE
Arkansas State University is committed to the highest standards of integrity in all areas of research and scholarship and conducts its research in compliance with federal, state, local, and institutional laws, regulations, and policies. Consistent with these principles, the office of Research Compliance is responsible for developing governing principles to guide the conduct of research on campus. Research Compliance works with faculty oversight committees and boards, including:
- Institutional Review Board (IRB) for research involving human subjects
- Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) for research involving animals
- Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) for research involving biohazardous materials
- Radiation Safety Committee for radioactive isotopes and responsible use of lasers
Research Compliance works closely with Environmental Health and Safety to ensure compliance in these areas. Research Compliance maintains the necessary assurances and certifications with appropriate federal and state regulatory agencies, provides laboratory and other training programs germane to externally-funded programs, and assists with research-related contracts and agreements.
