02/01/2018

JONESBORO – Students from the Arkansas State University’s Department of Media and the campus television station ASU-TV will produce the 2018 Craighead County Spelling Bee, Friday, Feb. 2, at Riceland Hall in Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive.

Competition begins at 10 a.m. following an hour-long practice round. ASU-TV will stream the spelling bee live on its Facebook page at Facebook.com/asutvjonesboro/ and will broadcast it on Suddenlink Channel 18 and Ritter Communications Channel 21.

Approximately 100 students representing grades 4-8 from 28 schools in Craighead County will compete.

ASU-TV has been involved with the county spelling bee since 1988. It was originally held in the television studio on the A-State campus, but moved to Fowler Center five years ago.
