Biography

Originally from Valencia, Spain, Dr. Moreno has over 20 years of living and teaching experience in the United States, where he also completed his education, receiving his PhD from Indiana University. His research agenda focuses on current understandings of literature and its place as a social and cultural referent in our contemporary world. More concretely, he is interested in 20th-and 21st-century Spanish literature and culture, the relationship between market and literature, and the way that the narrative produced during this period dialogues with social, cultural and economic changes in contemporary Spain.

He has published articles about the practices and mechanisms of legitimation that make literature possible. In addition to his research, Dr. Moreno takes great pride in his teaching and has a strong record of dedication to his students and to the field of Spanish language, literature and culture education.
