The Arkansas Science Festival is the first formal science festival to be organized and hosted in Northeast Arkansas as well as the State of Arkansas. The project was kick-started by grants to Drs. Amy R. Pearce (Director), Karen Yanowitz (Co-director) and Anne Grippo (Co-director) from the Science Festival Alliance. Their award was one of 12 awarded nationally in Fall 2013, with an internal cash match by A-State. The project directors receive mentorship and access to resources through the Science Festival Alliance and the project is expected to be sustainable. The first Arkansas Science Festival was hosted in Fall 2014 when community and university members enjoyed a week of science-focused activities. This year’s Arkansas Science Festival is shaping up to be another week of science-themed fun in early October. Check out our calendar of events and join us!!
