Biography

I grew up in Mountain Home, AR and attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro for undergraduate school. I completed my BSN in 2008 and worked in St. Bernards Medical Center emergency department for three years while completing my MSN.  I graduated in May of 2011 with my family nurse practitioner degree and became ANCC board certified the following month. From there I worked full time at NEA Baptist Jonesboro within the emergency department as well as covering shifts in Missouri at a separate ER. In 2013 I transitioned back to St. Bernards Medical Center where I worked six years for their hospital medicine (hospitalist) team, while continuing to work ER on a prn basis. My husband, a nurse practitioner as well, and I welcomed our first child in 2014 and our second in 2017; they're the center of our world and we thank God daily for His blessings! I've taken a full-time assistant professor position with ASTATE here on the main Jonesboro campus, teaching our future family nurse practitioners. I am very grateful and excited to be a part of the team here at ASU!
