Biography

I have been in healthcare since 1992. I started as a Medical Assistant in Stone Mountain, GA, and later became an LPN in 1997. I decided to continue my education and became an RN in 2013. During my time in the RN program, I decided to pursue a degree in nurse education. I obtained MSN in Nurse Education from Walden University. While in the MSN program and on completion, I was an adjunct nursing instructor at A-State for a short time. I started with A-State again in the Fall of 2022 as an adjunct clinical instructor. It was then that I desired to pursue as full-time and applied for the Assistant Professor of Nursing position. I also started working on my doctorate in nurse education in the fall of 2022. During my nursing career, my experiences include adjunct nursing instructor, CNA instructor, Staff Development Coordinator, Case Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing, staff nurse, charge nurse, supervisor, and Health Information Manager. My nursing background also includes Med-Surg, ICU stepdown, rehabilitation nursing, and long-term care.
