Favorite Place on Campus: Tomlinson Stadium is my favorite place on campus! Baseball is my second favorite sport- cheerleading is my first. I love going to baseball games in the spring when the weather is nice. Students tailgate behind the right field fence and many people hangout on "Barton's Deck". It is so much fun to see friends, students, and staff out at the ball park and cheer on the Red Wolves.
Favorite Campus Event: Order of the Pack is always exciting! I enjoy this pep rally because it gets the students ready for the first home football game. The students learn different chants and cheers that they are encouraged to do at certain points of the game. The spirit squads and band perform, and all the Greek organizations attend.
Free Time Activities: I like to shop at boutiques, attend all home sporting events, and hangout downtown with my friends on the weekends. I really enjoy traveling to away games, too! A-State plays great teams in really cool cities, so it's fun to explore different cities and then go to a different stadium and watch the game.
Favorite Place to Eat in Jonesboro: Chicken Salad Chick is my favorite lunch spot and Eleanor's Pizzeria downtown is my go-to place on the weekends. My favorite food at Chicken Salad Chick is the "Sassy Scotty" on a croissant, and my favorite food at Eleanor's is the spinach dip.
Most Interesting Class You Took in College: Politics and Pop Culture in the 1960s and Women in Politics were my favorite classes. They were both taught by Dr. Catherine Reese. She made going to class everyday so much fun. I would take every political science class from her if I could. These classes were interesting and most everyone in the class was very involved. It made for great discussions and debates!
#1 Piece of Advice for Prospective Students: Ask questions! Our admissions counselors are all very different, so we all majored and were involved in different things. This makes us able to answer questions about any major or any one of our 150 registered student organizations. If you have a specific question about a major or club/organization, don't be afraid to ask!
