Travel applications
Undergraduate student research travel funds are available through RTT for students who have submitted abstracts, or the disciplinary equivalent, such as auditions, and accepted to present at a conference. Applications are accepted during both the fall and spring semesters, and will be accepted until funds are expended. Notification of presentation acceptance must accompany the application. *Note - these funds are not for funding research travel or attending a conference without presentation.
Funding: Up to $400 for individual travel and up to $1,000 for group travel.
**Group travel applies when three or more students are attending the same event.
Deadline: October 1st and then reoccurring the first of each month until funds are expended for the academic year.
Both individual and group awards include a 50% match requirement: meaning, half of the award must be matched by a named source. These sources can include: a Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) or other sponsored award; funding from the college, department, faculty sponsor, or student's own resources; or another named source.
If you are awarded travel funds, you or your group are obligated to present your research or creative project at the next Create @ State annual symposium, scheduled each spring semester.
