ProctorU Statement for Syllabus

Statement that may be inserted into course syllabus:

ProctorU is a live online proctoring service that allows students to take exams from the comfort of their home.  ProctorU provides instructors with options for online proctoring of exams and assignments.  Instructors may utilize live proctoring or UCard authentication services. 

Students will create their ProctorU/UCard profile at the beginning of the semester.  Once completed, students will use this profile to schedule their exams as instructors make the exams available.  Please note that UCard authentication checks may occur at any time during the course.

ProctorU is available 24/7, however students will need to schedule a proctoring session at least 72 hours in advance to avoid any on demand scheduling fees.

To create a ProctorU profile visit go.proctoru.com.  ProctorU also provides free technical support to ensure students have the best testing situation possible.  That is available at www.proctoru.com/testitout. On this page students will be able to test their equipment, learn about what to expect during the proctoring session and ask any questions about the proctoring process with a ProctorU representative.  ProctorU technical support is also available via phone at 1-855-772-8678.

In order to use ProctorU you will need to have a high-speed internet connection, a webcam (internal or external), a Windows or Apple Operating System, and a government issued photo id.  ProctorU recommends that you visit www.proctoru.com/testitout prior to the proctoring session to test equipment that will be used during the exam session. 

 


  • Live Proctoring Statement

    I will utilize ProctorU Live Proctoring for this course.  You will need to create a ProctorU account by clicking the ProctorU link in the course or by clicking the following link: 

    https://go.proctoru.com/registrations. 

    You will need to schedule each live-proctored exam 3 days (72 hours) or more in advance.  Failure to do so will result in a $8 “Take it Soon” procrastination fee or $12 “On Demand” procrastination fee.  Because you accrued a $15 per credit hour student identity authentication fee when you registered for this course, there is no cost per exam unless you schedule within the 72-hour window.

    All exams will be taken in Blackboard.  Quizzes will not be proctored. Please review the ProctorU section for a tutorial video on the live proctoring process and other information.  Once you connect with a proctor, you will navigate to the exam and the proctor will unlock the exam for you.  You will not be able to take the exam without being proctored. 

  • Ucard Statement

    I will utilize ProctorU Ucard identification for this course.  You will need to create a ProctorU account by clicking the ProctorU link in the course or by clicking the following link: 

    https://go.proctoru.com/registrations. 

    You will need to schedule a time to create your Ucard by selecting ‘Create Ucard’ on your account page. Once you have scheduled a time to create your Ucard, you will connect to a live proctor and the proctor will walk you through the set up. You will only have to create the Ucard once.

    I will have Ucard Challenge assignments randomly throughout the course.  All Ucard challenges will be given in Blackboard.  Click the link, complete the challenge, then return to Blackboard.  After completing the challenge, click “Mark Reviewed” and your assignment will appear.

    Failure to complete the Ucard Challenge will result in a deduction of your grade.
