The Trustees of Arkansas State University serve the people of the State
of Arkansas by providing management and
control of Arkansas State University campuses in Jonesboro, Beebe, Newport,
Mountain Home, and Heber Springs;
degree centers of the University at sites in Blytheville, Forrest City, Fort
Smith, and West Memphis; and other academic
programs throughout the state.
The board consists of five members appointed
by the Governor for overlapping five-year terms,
and serve as a board of management and control. In this capacity, the Trustees
hire a president to serve as the chief executive officer, approve the
curriculum of the institution, approve the annual operating budget, establish
policies for the efficient operation
of the institution, and approve those matters which require participation
of the governing board of the university.
