Traffic and Parking Procedures Implemented For Thursday's ASU Game

11/07/2012

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Arkansas State University Athletics Department would like to make those fans attending this Thursday (Nov. 8) evening’s key ASU home football game at Liberty Bank Stadium aware of traffic and parking procedures around the area of the Stadium.

A large crowd is expected for the weeknight matchup between two first-place Sun Belt Conference teams in Arkansas State and Louisiana-Monroe.  Kickoff is scheduled for 6:02 p.m. (CT) in a game which will be televised nationally and aired on ESPNU.

“We realize that many of our fans will be coming straight to the game after work, and we’re expecting thousands of new fans to come out and support the Red Wolves,” said ASU Associate Athletics Director for External Operations Doug Doggett.  “With a large crowd expected, we want to make sure everyone has a great experience from the moment they drive onto campus.”

Those who have parking passes should continue to use the entrances they’ve used for all the previous games. Those fans needing general and paid parking can find availability around the Convocation Center.  Fans traveling from Paragould or downtown Jonesboro are encouraged to use Johnson Avenue to University Loop East which will take them to Aggie Road and Olympic Drive for access to paid and general parking.  Those traveling from the south on Stadium Boulevard are encouraged to turn west onto Aggie Road.

State Police, Jonesboro and University Police and numerous parking attendants will be on hand to direct traffic.

Arkansas State, which is now bowl eligible with a present 6-3 overall record and a first-place tying 4-1 SBC mark this season, will put its current four-game winning streak up against the Warhawks.  Tickets for A-State’s upcoming key conference matchup versus Louisiana-Monroe remain on sale and may be purchased by calling the ASU Ticket Office at 870-972-2781 or 1-888-ASU-FANS.  An ASU Athletics’ Code Red Alert has been issued by proclamation from the City of Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin for all A-State fans to wear red to this Thursday’s game and support the Red Wolves.
