Why did you choose A-State?
I am a graduate from the BSN and MSN programs here at A-State and know the quality and rigor the School of Nursing provides. I am honored to be a part of cultivating the education of future nurses.
What makes a good professor?
One who remembers sitting in the same seats their students are sitting in right now.
What are you working on right now?
I’m writing an examination for Concepts of Nursing.
In college, I was known for...
being organized and helping my classmates.
Who was your favorite teacher (and why)?
Dr. Angela Schmidt. Dr. Schmidt exudes professionalism and compassion in all that she does. She is an advocate for her students and faculty.
Your philosophy on education in seven words:
Never stop learning all you possible can.
If you could teach another field, which one and why?
Faith Based Studies
What is the one thing you wish you could teach everyone about your field?
Nurses lead health care every day. Nurses have been voted the most trusted professionals in America every year since 1999 except for one (after 9/11, fire fighters rightfully earned that title). We let our students know they have big shoes to fill and they step up to fill those shoes.

In 2010 my husband and I took a 21-day road trip to the Pacific Northwest. When we arrived in Seattle, we took a 7-day Alaskan-Canadian Cruise. When we arrived back in port, we drove a different route home through Colorado.
