You have to like what you are doing and work hard at it.
Who was your favorite teacher (and why)?
Elizabeth Stokes taught me how to be a teacher, Rose Nealis taught me the importance of detail and Betty Bohannon gave me my love of Critical Care.
What makes for a good student?
Interest in the subject, willingness to work at it and a sense of humor.
What’s the value of a university education?
Priceless. It should change how you think.

Commitment to the students is key.
What is the one thing you wish you could teach everyone about your field?
That the trust our patients freely give is a gift that is worthy of the utmost respect and responsibility.

I love to read. This past summer I read the Outlander series by Donna Gabaldon (historical fiction). I am a member of one of Jonesboro’s oldest book clubs. They read two books a month and I can’t keep up! We recently read The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. The Museum of Extraordinary Things by Alice Hoffman is next on the list.
