College of Business to Present HOLT CAT Senior VP as Alsey Distinguished Speaker

JONESBORO — Edward Craner, senior vice president for HOLT CAT in San Antonio, Texas, is the next Alsey Distinguished Speaker at Arkansas State University. Craner is the first speaker for 2015.

Craner will speak as a part of the College of Business Alsey Series on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. to undergraduate students and again at 2 p.m. to A-State business graduate students in Room 103 at the Delta Center for Economic Development (DCED), 319 University Circle.

In addition, eight business students were nominated to participate in a business professional luncheon with Craner in the Executive Dining Room in the Carl R. Reng Student Union.

Craner was named senior vice president for strategy and marketing in June 2014, for HOLT CAT, the Caterpillar Equipment and Engine dealer for south, central, north and northeast Texas. A part of HOLT since 2008, he previously served as vice president of strategy and marketing, and oversaw the refining of the organization’s strategic planning and operational alignment initiatives.

Prior to joining HOLT, Craner was in sales operations and supply chain management for AT&T. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in media communications from Eastern Washington and a Master of Business Administration degree in strategy and marketing from Saint Mary’s College of California.

The speaker series is supported by the Stella Horton Alsey and Howard Milton Alsey Endowment in the College of Business.
