Kim Authors Award-Winning Criminology Article Kim Authors Award-Winning Criminology Article

Dr. Jihoon Kim, assistant professor of criminology, is lead author of an article published in the Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency. He and the co-author analyze how a first arrest influences subsequent delinquency and educational attainment. The paper also has been awarded second place in the American Criminological Society's 2018 Gene Carte Award competition. A recognition ceremony will occur at the Society's upcoming meeting.

 
Mello, Philhours and Hill Publish Supply Study

Dr. John Mello (right), professor of supply chain management, Dr. Melodie Philhours, associate professor of marketing, and Dr. Katie Hill, assistant professor of marketing, recently published "Warning Signs for Consumer-Induced Shortages" in Foresight: The International Journal of Applied Forecasting. The article gives practitioners a case study of recent ammunition shortages, adding insights into consumers' panic buying and tips for managing the supply chain.

Hills Co-Author Article on Corporate Trade Credit

Dr. Katie Hill (right), assistant professor of marketing and director of the R.M. "Bob" Wood Sales Leadership Center, and Dr. Matthew Hill, assistant professor of finance, are co-authors of "International Evidence on the Determinants of Trade Credit Provision," which has been accepted for the journal Managerial Finance. The authors analyzed differences in corporate trade credit behavior across 40 countries and found major differences among geographic regions.

Hansen is Symposium Keynote Speaker Hansen is Symposium Keynote Speaker

Dr. Gregory Hansen, professor of folklore and English, was a keynote speaker at Belmont University's 17th annual Humanities Symposium. His featured presentation was titled, "Heritage Friction/Heritage Values and the Work of Folklore." Hansen recently presented a paper, titled "Applied Folklore, Historic Preservation, and the Local Politics of a Property Maintenance Code," at the annual meeting of the American Folklore Society in Buffalo, N.Y.

 
Nix's Work with Diabetic Patients is Featured

Because of her successful work as a certified diabetes educator (CDE), comments by Dr. Libby Nix, associate professor of nursing, were featured in an American Diabetes Month article on newslive.com. Nix discussed some of the benefits of quality patient education, both for the effective and successful treatment of new patients as well as continued support and improved quality of life for everyone with diabetes.
