Welcome to A-State's New Faculty Members for 2014-15

The A-State community welcomes almost 40 individuals who have joined the faculty for the 2014-15 academic year.  A number of senior faculty members benefited from the early retirement incentive and concluded employment in June; as a result, we have many new faces on campus this fall.  The new faculty members are grouped by their respective colleges, in multiple articles here and in a future edition of Inside A-State.

 
Sciences and Mathematics Sciences and Mathematics

New faculty in the College of Sciences and Mathematics are: Dr. Brook L. Fluker (pictured), assistant professor of biological sciences; Dr. Lisa Rice, assistant professor of mathematics; Dr. Mohammad Alam, visiting assistant professor of chemistry; and Andrea Nichols, temporary instructor in mathematics.

 
Agriculture and Technology Agriculture and Technology

New faculty in the College of Agriculture and Technology are: Dr. Peter Larbi (pictured), assistant professor of agricultural studies, and Stephanie Pulley, instructor in agricultural studies.

 
Business

New faculty in the College of Business are: Dr. Sharon D. James (pictured), assistant professor of marketing and management; Walter Henley, temporary instructor in management and marketing; Rhonda Keith, temporary instructor in accounting; Dr. Kalpana Khanal, temporary instructor in economics; and Marko Korkeakoski, visiting temporary instructor in management and marketing.

Engineering Engineering

The new faculty member in the College of Engineering is Paul Minor, temporary instructor in electrical engineering.

 
Education and Behavioral Science Education and Behavioral Science

New faculty in the College of Education and Behavioral Science are: Dr. Daniel O'Meara (pictured), assistant professor of educational leadership; Ashley Thrasher, instructor in athletic training and exercise science; Tara Allen, temporary instructor in physical education; and Caroline Kelly, temporary instructor in mid-level education.

 
Media and Communication Media and Communication

Carol Langston, temporary instructor in strategic communication, is the new faculty member in the College of Media and Communication.

 
Fine Arts Fine Arts

New faculty in the College of Fine Arts are: Dr. Bonita Tanaka (pictured), assistant professor of graphic design; Dr. Bruce Faske, instructor in music; Dr. Scott Dickson, temporary instructor in art; and Dr. Sarah Jones-Hayes, temporary instructor in music.
