Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.)


Description

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre is a pre-professional training program designed to prepare the student artist for employment in the professional theatre and/or candidacy in a Master of Fine Arts graduate program. Students of theatre must complete 120 credit hours of study, consisting of the General Education requirement of 35 credit hours, the theatre department core requirement of 45 credit hours, and a chosen emphasis of 40 credit hours.

Careers

A-State Theatre graduates have enjoyed successful careers as professional actors and technicians with Disney, in Hollywood, on Broadway, Las Vegas, as well as numerous regional theatres throughout the United States. Likewise, many A-State Theatre graduates are presently teaching theatre in high schools and universities throughout the country.

Prerequisites

Theatre majors must complete the following courses as part of their general education coursework:

  • ART 2503 Fine Arts Visual
  • MUS 2503 Fine Arts Musical
