Description

The purpose of the Health Promotion program is to prepare health educators with the skills and competencies necessary to assess, plan, implement and evaluate effective health-related programs. With such skills, graduates can contribute to improving the health of individuals and communities in Arkansas and beyond.

Career Opportunities & Salary

According to the 2014-2015 edition of the Occupational Outlook Handbook, the 2012 median salary of a health educator/community health worker was $41,830. Community health worker salaries vary depending on local economies, wage scales and demand.  In major metropolitan areas, recommended starting annual salaries range from $35,000 to $42,000.

This program is open to all students accepted by Arkansas State University.
