People can tell you how great a place is, but the best way to know whether it's right for you is to see it--and experience it--for yourself. At Arkansas State, we welcome your visit and offer a variety of campus visitation programs to suit your needs.

Scheduling Your Visit

Our visits are very popular, so be sure to request your visit at least one week prior to visiting campus. The Office of Recruitment provides tours and recruitment information for students in 9th grade and above. Our visits range from general campus visits that showcase Arkansas State University's campus, but we also offer students the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor in their intended area of study.

High School Seniors

Arkansas State provides several options for seniors to explore our campus.

General Campus Visits

These visits are offered on Monday-Thursday at 3 different times: 8:45am, 10:45am and 1:45pm. During your general campus visits you will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet with the Campus Experience Recruiter.
  • Tour Campus with a Chancellor's Ambassador tour guide (approximately 45 minutes, weather permitting).
  • The CA will guide you through our academic buildings, state of the art Red WOLF Fitness facility, and our Student Union. You will also see the residence halls that will be your home while at A-State.

Academic Campus Visits 

These visits are offered Tuesday through Thursday and each visit times represents an opportunity to visit with a faculty member in the college listed. On these visits you will:

  • Meet with the Campus Experience Recruiter.
  • The CA will guide you through our academic buildings, state of the art Red WOLF Fitness facility, and our Student Union. You will also see the residence halls that will be your home while at A-State.
  • Tour campus with a Chancellor's Ambassador tour guide (approximately 45 minutes, weather permitting).
  • Meet with faculty member in the college of interest of the student. This will give you an opportunity to speak to an advisor about degree plans, expectations of the program, etc.

College of Education and Behavioral Science - 8:45 am

These visits are for students that are interested in following majors:

Students interested in Secondary Education should visit the college of the subject they wish to teach. For example, if the student would like to teach high school English, they should visit the College of Humanities and Social Sciences for the appropriate visit.



Pre-Professional Studies - 10:45 am

These visits are for students that are interested in following majors:

  • Pre-Medical
  • Pre-Dental
  • Pre-Dental Hygiene

High School Juniors

Junior year is the perfect time to begin visiting different institutions and establishing criterion to make your choice for the right college for you. We are happy to offer general and academic campus visits for juniors, but in addition we also offer smaller junior preview days.

Junior Preview Days

Junior Preview Days are held Fridays in the fall and are tailored especially for high school juniors who are beginning their college search process. Junior Visit Days will include an A-State Recruitment Presentation, a student panel for students and parents respectively and campus tours with a Chancellor's Ambassador.

Honors Visits

Personalized Honors visits are offered to students with an ACT composite score of 27 or higher AND a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or higher. Honors visits are available Monday thru Thursday at 10:45 a.m. throughout the year.

During your Honors visit, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet with a recruitment advisor.
  • Tour campus with a student tour guide (approximately 45 minutes, weather permitting).
  • Eat lunch in Acansa Dining Hall.
  • Meet with a representative from The Honors College.

Transfer Students

Transferring from one college to another or simply returning to college can be intimidating, that's why Arkansas State is happy to offer campus visits specifically for transfer students. These visits will allow you to meet with a Recruitment Advisor and to ask questions you may have about transferring to Arkansas State.

Transfer Group Visits

Transfer Group Visit days are for our prospective transfer students. These visits will be held exclusively on Fridays. The dates are September 26th, October 24th and November 14th. All visits begin at 9am. Please call 870-972-2782 to request a transfer group visit for your students.

The Transfer Group visits include a transfer admissions presentation along with an opportunity to hear from the colleges and various academic units on campus. You will hear from a student panel and receive a campus tour. Students are encouraged to meet with the academic advisor of their intended major while on campus, however, the student is responsible for schedule those appointments.

Group Visits

High School Group Visits

Arkansas State is happy to provide Group Visits tailored for high school groups of 25 to 60 students on Fridays during the fall. The dates for high school groups are September 5th, September 12th, October 3rd, October 10th, November 21st and December 5th. All visits begin at 9am. Request a High School Group visit, please call 870-972-2782. We will do our best to accommodate your groups, but please keep in mind activities may be limited for larger groups. We will do our best to show your students a great Arkansas State experience!

Group Visits are approximately 2 hours in length and consist of an admissions presentation and a student-led walking tour of campus. After you tour you may also visit the Arkansas State Museum or contact other offices for additional presentations.

While Group Visits are free of charge, please note that we do not provide lunch. However, you may bring sack lunches, try one of the countless food court options on campus, or experience a meal in Acansa Dining Hall by calling 870-972-2059.

Summer Visits

During the summer there will be no academic visits available. Summer visits are offered Monday-Thursday at 9am. During your visit you will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet with the Campus Experience Recruiter.
  • Tour Campus with an A-State Recruitment Advisor tour guide (approximately 45 minutes, weather permitting).
  • The Recruitment Advisor will guide you through our academic buildings, state of the art Red WOLF Fitness facility, and our Student Union. You will also see the residence halls that will be your home while at A-State.

Summer Honors Visits

Personalized Honors visits are offered to students with an ACT composite score of 27 or higher AND a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or higher. Honors visits are available Monday thru Thursday at 9 a.m. during the summer.

  • Meet with a recruitment advisor.
  • Tour campus Recruitment Advisor tour guide (approximately 45 minutes, weather permitting)
  • Meet with a representative from The Honors College. The meeting with the Honors College will include a tour of the Honors Living Learning Community.
