A-State Will be Closed on Thursday, March 5

Arkansas State University will remain closed on Thursday, March 5 due to incoming winter weather. This includes the main campus at Jonesboro and the Paragould center.

For the convenience of students, faculty/staff and the community:
  • The Acansa Dining Hall will operate under inclement weather hours, 10:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • The Red Wolf Center will be open from noon - 5 pm.
  • The Dean B. Ellis Library will decide on their hours after campus conditions are evaluated Thursday morning.
  • GradStock has been rescheduled to March 9, from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Cooper Alumni Center.
  • The Testing Center will be closed.
  • Wednesday's performance of "12 Angry Men" has been cancelled. Contact the Box Office for refund information.
  • NEA Science Fair has been postponed to March 16 at Hames Room, Convocation Center.
  • Communications Day (March 7) has been cancelled.
  • The SunBelt basketball match-ups with South Alabama will be played as scheduled.
  • This weekend's baseball matchup with UTA has been moved to Smith-Wills Stadium in Jackson, MS. First game is Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday, March 8 at 1 p.m.

The university reminds students to monitor their official Arkansas State student email account for information regarding classes, as explained in an announcement from Provost Lynita Cooksey.

To help us ensure that your registration process runs as smoothly as possible, please review the lists below:


Make sure you have completed the following:

  • The admissions application & paid the $15 admissions fee
  • Sent all official transcripts from high school
  • Sent all official transcripts from college/concurrent enrollment
  • Sent official ACT/SAT/ASSEST/COMPASS and AP test scores
  • Provided proof of two immunizations for rubella, rubella, and mumps
  • Finalized payments for all outstanding University account balances. Contact Account Services for further assistance at 870-972-2285.
  • If you or someone attending with you has a disability which requires special accommodations for full participation in the orientation program, please call the Leadership Center at 870-972-2055.


  • Watch for your New Student Registration session confirmation email. You should receive this within 72 hours of selecting your session date and time. If you do not receive this confirmation email please call the Office of Admissions at 870-972-2031.
  • Plan accordingly. If you have other commitments during the New Student Registration you wish to attend, you should sign up for another session. Students are not permitted to leave until New Student Registration is complete.
  • An email reminder with parking information will be sent to the primary email listed for the student approximately one week prior to the New Student Registration session date and time. You may also visit our New Student Registration parking section to view information on where to park when you arrive to campus at any time.


  • Check in for the program is located on the 3rd floor of the Reng Center directly outside of the Centennial Hall Ballroom.
  • The NSR schedule allots time for all future students to visit with University departments between 8:00a -5:00p.
  • Your driver's license or military id will be needed in order to receive your official A-State ID.
  • A-State prepares our students for the classroom today and for a profession tomorrow. Do not forget to bring your Apple iPad with you this fall. Visit the IT Store at ITstore.astate.edu for iPad specifications.
